New York Times: Law School Digital Subscription

The University of Maine Garbrecht Law Library is pleased to provide availability of the New York Times Digital Edition via a site license for the Maine Law community. The site license permits our current students, faculty and staff to access the Times’ current content without an individual subscription or monthly limits.

NYTimes.com Academic Pass

Read the NYTimes online with an Academic Pass

Academic Passes:

  • allow 24 hour access from any device
  • are available to Maine Law students, faculty, and staff ONLY
  • are available from any location
  • require a valid @maine.edu address

1. REGISTER YOUR @maine.edu ADDRESS

  • First, log into the MYLaw Portal then in a separate tab, go to accessnyt.com
  • Select the University of Maine School of Law.
  • Enter your Maine Law email address.
  • Create a new password (do not use your University of Maine password).
  • NYT will send an email validation. Access the site using the link sent in the NYT email.

  • Go to accessnyt.com
  • Select Log in here >> (below Create Account) to enter your Maine Law University email address and the password that you created for this site. Do not use Google to sign in. If you don't have or don't know your password, choose Forgot Password to reset.

2. READ THE NYT

Once activated, your Pass will provide access to NYTimes.com and smart phone apps from any location until your graduation date.

Can I access the Times from my mobile device?

There are NYTimes mobile apps for iPhone, and Android phones included as part of the Academic Pass.

Mobile apps for tablets are not part of the Academic Pass. However, you can access NYTimes.com formatted for mobile users by visiting mobile.nytimes.com using your smartphone or tablet browser.
