The University of Maine School of Law faculty, staff, and students have access to this tool through the University of Maine System. Pivot is a database of searchable funding opportunities from a wide range of funders (governments, corporations, professional societies, foundations). Geared toward the higher education community.

Create (or access) your Pivot account: Click on "Use Email Address/Create Password" to begin, and end by clicking on the "Create my account" button. If you already have an account, click on the person icon person icon that launches a sign in dropdown menu to proceed.

1. Create an account in Pivot in order to save searches and receive alerts when new opportunities are added that match your search criteria.

2. Use Advanced Search to find funding opportunities that match who you are as a grantseeker.

3. Essential fields to complete: Activity Location, Citizenship, Keyword, Applicant Type, Funding Type

  • Keyword (climate change, fish and fisheries, wind energy, etc.)
  • Applicant Type (academic institution, graduate student, PhD or professional, etc.)
  • Funding Type (scholarship, fellowship, research grant, conference travel, artistic pursuit, etc.).
