Library Services & Legal Research for Maine Law Alumni

• Alumni are provided access to Hein-On-Line.  Please visit the Maine Law  Community to register for this service.  The Law Journal Library, collection includes than 1,800 law and law-related journals. 
• The staff at the Garbrecht Law Library services our students and alums from their first day and through out their practice.   Please do not hesitate to contact the Maine Law Library. 
• This guide provides information on research tools provided by the Maine Law Library after graduating, resources available to residents of Maine and freely accessible materials.

Extended Access to LexisNexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law

Graduates have access to LexisNexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law for 6 months after graduation.  Access to LexisNexis or Bloomberg Law  is available to you without any extra steps on your part.  To access the Westlaw Grad Elite program you MUST opt in by clicking here or by going to Westlaw and logging in using your username and password.  In the drop-down menu next to your name click Grad Elite Status.

Remember that you can still access the law library’s growing number of research guides and other service directly from the law library’s website.  You can also reach the reference staff by emailing us at lawref@maine.edu.  The Circulation/ILL staff can be reached at lawill@maine.edu.  Best wishes from all of us at the Garbrecht Law Library!

The following services are available from the Garbrecht Law Library

• A free one-year membership to the Donald L. Garbrecht Law Library Association.
• Free access to HeinOnline through the Maine Law Community Website.
• Six months extended access to LexisNexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law.  Access to LexisNexis and Bloomberg law is automatic but you MUST opt in to Westlaw.
• Access the Law Library’s growing number of research guides and other services directly from the Law Library’s website.
• You can always email the reference staff  or Circulation/Ill Staff with your questions.  We love to hear from our alums!
