Library Services & Legal Research for Maine Law Alumni

General Information

  • Alumni are provided access to Hein-On-Line.  Please visit the Maine Law  Community to register for this service.  The Law  Journal  Library, collection  includes than 1,800 law and law-related journals.   It also includes access to Fast Case.
  • The staff at the Garbrecht Law Library services our students and alums from their first day and through out their practice.   Please do not hesitate to contact the Maine Law Library.  During this time of Covid-19 the Library is not open to the public.   We are still lending books and providing curbside pick-up.   This information will be updated as more news becomes available.
  • This guide provides information on research tools provided by the Maine Law Library after graduating, resources available to residents of Maine and freely accessible materials.

Recent Graduates - Access to Bloomberg Law, Lexis + & Westlaw Edge

Extended Access to LexisNexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law

Graduates have access to LexisNexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law for 6 months after graduation.  Access to LexisNexis or Bloomberg Law  is available to you without any extra steps on your part.  To access the Westlaw Grad Elite program you MUST opt in by clicking here or by going to Westlaw and logging in using your username and password.  In the drop-down menu next to your name click Grad Elite Status.

Remember that you can still access the law library’s growing number of research guides and other service directly from the law library’s website.  You can also reach the reference staff by emailing us at lawref@maine.edu.  The Circulation/ILL staff can be reached at lawill@maine.edu.  Best wishes from all of us at the Garbrecht Law Library!
